Arconic Electrical Technician in Whitehall, Michigan

This position is located in our Arconic Research Center in Whitehall, MI . As a team member in the Manufacturing Technology group within the Arconic Research Center, the successful candidate will:

  • Create electrical schematics with CAD software

  • Program and troubleshoot PLC ladder logic programs

  • Program Allen-Bradley operator interface screens

  • Program and troubleshoot Yaskawa Motoman Robots.

The Manufacturing Technology group designs, builds, commissions and supports capital equipment that resides in production facilities throughout the United States and abroad. This position requires 25%-50% travel at times to support equipment installation and start-up.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution

  • Associate degree or higher from an accredited institution in Electrical/Electronic Technology or state licensed electrician

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an equipment build/maintenance or manufacturing environment

  • Successfully meet the standardized TABE testing requirements. If applicant possesses a minimum of an associate degree, testing is not required.

  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematic diagrams

  • Troubleshooting electrical circuits with a multi-meter

  • Basic understanding of ladder logic PLC programming

  • PC literate in Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude with the desire to learn new skills
