Work you'll do

As an HR Personnel Security Specialist for our federal sector client, you will:

  • Process the backlog of background investigations and reinvestigations

  • Update the employment suitability module (ESM) system and program files to close out this backlog of investigations and reinvestigations

  • Process the backlog of security actions as it relates to background investigation requirements

  • Assist in providing surge support in processing fingerprints and background checks

  • Ensure all functions are completed accurately, correctly, in a timely fashion, and perform duties related to personnel security

  • Create and/or review work products for completeness, quality, and adherence to agency requirements

  • Process pre-employment security background checks and/or investigation paperwork

  • Develop task plans and understanding best practice frameworks, and key performance metrics

Qualifications

Required:

  • 4 years of experience providing general HR support to include recruiting, security operations, background investigations, and employment suitability

  • Experience with supporting a federal personnel security program to include:

  • complying with federal law, regulations, procedures, practices, or policies related to personnel security, suitability, and background investigations

  • working with investigation forms, investigative organizations, and individuals being investigated

  • working with managers, employees, and human resources specialists to resolve a wide variety of suitability issues

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future

  • Active Top Secret security clearance required

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

Preferred:

  • Experience with federal government background investigation systems and platforms such as eAPP and NBIS

This position is for our Washington, D.C. office. We operate in a hybrid work environment, and Deloitte professionals are expected to collocate in the office or client sites up to 50% of the time (2-3 days per week).
