Post Holdings, Inc., recently announced an agreement to acquire Perfection Pet Foods, a leading manufacturer of private label and co-manufactured pet food and baked treats. The transaction is anticipated to close by the end of the calendar year in 2023. This role is part of the Perfection Pet Foods team of 250+ employees who will soon join the Post family to help grow the pet food business. Location Description Visalia, CA is home to 360,000 square feet of manufacturing, packaging, warehouse, and office space. Approximately 250 employees work here, utilizing the latest technologies and systems, capable of producing extensive, diverse, and innovative pet food products. Visalia is in California’s San Joaquin Valley and the gateway to Sequoia National Park, part of the Sierra Nevada mountain range. It also has a minor league baseball team, the Visalia California Oaks, and several colleges and universities. Responsibilities The position of the Shipping Clerk is responsible for maintaining a high level of inventory accuracy and integrity within the facility. This position will take delivery of incoming shipments of products, organize merchandise for outbound shipments, and keep records regarding these transactions. Strict compliance with the facility Food Safety and Quality Management System Policies, Procedures, and Work Instructions is required. Essential Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Proficient in all Shipping Clerk I duties Capable of working independent with little to no supervision Able to direct and train other Clerks Manage all inbound/outbound shipments by: Recording shortages and eliminating damaged merchandise. Tracing missing or lost shipments. Oversees all monitoring activities to assure finished goods comply with food safety and quality specifications: Monitors incoming goods/services for possible contamination Identifies non-conforming product Rotates product to prevent expiration. Prints/prepares all paperwork for shipment with accuracy and attention to detail: Attaches identifying information and delivery instructions on containers. Posts weights and shipment charges. Maintains shipping board in Shipping office Inspect and clear trailers for loading Skilled in SAP and creating labels for outbound shipments Competent in reading all product information on labels e.g. lot, expiration date, part number, etc. Expert in Grossman prosses related to job activities. Authenticates receipts of shipments alongside bills of lading, invoices and other records. Maintains files of shipping records Maintain warehouse, and its equipment and materials, in an organized and clean manner to ensure safety and good manufacturing processes. Ensures operations are conducted in a manner that promotes safety and maintains security in the warehouse. Responsible for continuous improvement ideas and implementation in assigned area Interact with warehouse team members, quality control, and production to maximize output and efficiency. Report any food safety issues observed to manager/supervisor. Report any plant security breaches, attempts at product tampering or contamination, or other suspicious behavior observed to manager/supervisor. Complete and comply with the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS), Daily Routine List (DRL), HACCP procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Compliance. Provide back-up support for other roles as necessary. Available for overtime work on a scheduled or call-in basis as necessary. Other duties as assigned by the manager/supervisor. Qualifications Qualifications and Competencies: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill or ability necessary to perform this job successfully: Education/Experience: A high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience One year working in a warehouse environment 3 years of experience as a clerk 1 year SAP/Grossman Skills: Highly skilled in computer systems. Strong organizational and detail oriented skills. Ability to perform counts using basic arithmetic skills. Must be self-motivated, proactive and able to work independently and as a team. Proficient with a scan gun. Communicates English well, both verbally and in writing. Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point, and Access).

Physical Requirements: Continuously lift and/or move objects weighing up to and including 50 pounds. Tolerance for both hot and cold environments. Environment: Regularly exposed to work near moving mechnical parts/machinery. Regularly exposed to major amounts of dust. Regularly exposed to moderate to severe noise levels. Regularly exposed to outdoor/uncontrolled weather conditions. Ocassionally exposed to chemicals used in the manufacturing process. Note: Valid Driver’s License required for insurance purposes. Plant Management retains the discretion to add to or change the duties of this position at any time.
