Arconic Engines has an opportunity for a Forge Helper. This position is located in Verdi, NV (Reno/Tahoe area).

SUMMARY

Assists the work unit in the production process.

  • Basic understanding of forging process and procedures

  • Ability to follow directions given by the Blacksmith or Supervisor

  • Keeps track of serialization of parts

  • Maintains a safe and organized work area and displays concern for maintain equipment (manipulator, furnaces, etc.)

  • Follows all company policies and safety procedures

  • Ensures that the parts being worked on are of the highest quality

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED and three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, drawings and specifications, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals. Ability to write detailed reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of co-workers.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
