SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for the supervision of administration, implementation, and management of the controls fulfillment processes of controls operations team. Provide leadership that establishes and achieves the department objectives and goals consistent with overall organizational strategy. Responsible for satisfied customers, profit performance, personnel development, and operational excellence. Responsible for contract compliance.

PRIMARY ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Working safely is our company’s number one business objective.   • Communicates to Controls Management frequently, at least weekly, with updates on jobs and problem areas. Attend operations meetings.

  • Supervises assigned controls project installation to assure the implementation of the controls installation processes are achieved. Maintain cooperation between controls teams and ensures resources are shared for best used.

  • Carries out management/leadership responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.

  • Ensure quality standards are met for assigned controls projects, processes, and functions to provide for the safe execution of work and customer satisfaction.

  • Provide technical support in the field.

  • Perform controls work in the field as necessary.

  • Responsible for achieving mission objectives regarding profit, resource, and customer satisfaction goals.

  • Monitor process to effectively and efficiently meet customer needs.

  • Works with controls management and technical centers of excellence to establish required skill sets, talents, and capabilities.

  • Contributes ideas to overall business strategy and plans as a part of the leadership team.

  • Interacts with sales to ensure smooth hand off of projects from the sales process.

  • Insures high performance controls customer experience through regular visits, inspections of controls job sites, and communicating with contract customers.

  • Maintains customer satisfaction by investigating opportunities, concerns, implementation of corrective action, or improved processes and communication with customers and staff as needed.

  • Responsible for internal communications flow relative to the fulfillment process. This includes interface with Sales, Parts, Controls, Service, Contracting, and billing for controls related problems and opportunities.

  • Responsible for keeping abreast of products, product design, and requirements for installation and service as well as working knowledge of HVAC principles, especially for controls and the other products/services represented by the firm.

  • Responsible for keeping abreast of external market conditions and internal requirements to insure that we lead through education and innovation in our controls offerings.

  • Reviews project performance measurements and monitors projects through warranty periods.

  • Make recommendations of tools and capital requirements for controls team.

  • Some travel with occasional overnight stays. 3-5% of time.

  • Flexibility to work outside normal work hours/weekends, as required.

  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

    Trade School graduate required with 10 years related experience and/or training. Equivalent combination of education and experience considered.

    REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

    State driver’s license, auto insurance, auto registration, and acceptable driving record.

    PREFERRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

    None indicated.

    SOFTWARE SKILLS REQUIRED:

    Specific Programs and/or skills:

    Post hire specialty software training provided.

    COMMUNICATION SKILLS:

    Ability to read and understand simple instructions, short correspondence, notes, letters, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to read and understand documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions in person-to-person and small group situations with customers, clients, general public and other employees of the organization.

    This position is performed in a mechanical/equipment room environment. Requires working outdoors, possibly in extreme weather conditions. Requires heavy auto travel, exposing employee to hazardous weather conditions and inherent traffic hazards. While performing the duties of this job, during the job site visits, the employee is frequently exposed to risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Administrative and/or supervisory duties are typically performed in an office environment.
