Penske Logistics Pricing Manager in Reading, Pennsylvania

This position is a multipurpose task position.

  1. Penske Logistics Product Line focus is DCC Shared Network pricing

  2. To support the attainment of new business plan while achieving or exceeding our financial goals.

  3. To manage the Pricing assignments and workflow in the department and supervise the Sr. Financial Analysts and Financial Analysts supporting the Solution Team.

  4. To provide experienced based analysis to Penske Logistics Senior Leadership, Penske Solution team members, and Penske Logistics field operations. Recommendations include identification of pricing risks, explanation of pricing standards, presentation of alternatives, and bringing attention to possible expense recovery gaps in customer proposed pricing.

  5. To provide training to new and existing Penske Logistics associates concerning new business pricing process, pricing models, and pricing assumptions that support the Solution team and Penske Logistics field operations. (Associates commonly trained are Solution team staff, Region Finance Staff, and Operation Managers).

  6. To provide coaching and associate development of the Sr. Financial Analysts and Financial Analysts supporting the Solution Team. To measure new business activity and continually improve the new business pricing processes.

  7. To support Product Line special projects and research.

  8. To monitor and update pricing standard factors in pricing templates.

Major Responsibilities:

• Manage the pricing assignments for all new business deals based on customer requirements, design, assumptions & pricing standards.

• To provide coaching and associate development of the Sr. Financial Analysts and Financial Analysts supporting the Solution Team.

• Develop costing and pricing while working with the Product Line Managers to support Enterprise business pricing while achieving or exceeding our financial goals

• Develop costing and pricing while working with the Product Line Managers to support New business pricing while achieving or exceeding our financial goals

• Develop costing and pricing while working with the Product Line Managers to support Add or existing pricing while achieving or exceeding our financial goals

• Assists Product Line leadership on special projects and other assignments as needed. Research and provide Product Line leadership with information on competitive pricing and costing.

• Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, (Cost) Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain required

• Master's Degree (MBA) preferred. If no degree, equivalent work experience is required.

• 10+ Years Business Experience (Position experience in one of the following - Logistics Pricing, Solution Design, Logistics Product Line Manager, or Cost Accounting)

• 10+ years of Logistics industry experience preferred

• Experience with logistics costs / expenditures

• Intermediate financial analysis skills and ability to formulate creative pricing solutions

• Intermediate - personal computer / IT knowledge and skills

• Advanced - working knowledge of Excel

• Ability to receive, understand, and apply operating statistics and pricing assumptions at different times in a non-linear process of data collection.

• Ability to adapt and change pricing approaches due to different product line strategies

• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.

• Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required
