Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Hotel Controller to oversee the financial operations of our hotel. The Hotel Controller will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, implementing internal controls, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a thorough understanding of accounting processes and procedures.

Responsibilities:

Financial Management:

· Manage all financial aspects of the hotel including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger.

· Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure efficient operations and compliance with regulations.

· Monitor cash flow and financial performance to maintain fiscal integrity of the property and identify trends that need corrective action.

Reporting and Analysis:

· Prepare accurate and timely financial reports including monthly financial statements, profit and loss statements, and cash flow projections.

· Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.

· Provide management with financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making processes.

· Conduct regular audits to ensure the integrity of financial information and compliance with internal controls.

Internal Controls:

· Establish and maintain internal control procedures to safeguard assets and ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.

· Monitor compliance with internal policies and procedures and recommend improvements as necessary.

· Conduct periodic reviews and audits to assess the effectiveness of internal controls and identify areas for enhancement.

Compliance:

· Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to financial reporting and taxation.

· Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations impacting the hospitality industry and implement necessary changes to ensure compliance.

· Liaise with external auditors and regulatory agencies as necessary.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.

Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a similar role

Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and internal controls.

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with hotel management systems is a plus.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and integrity.

Strong leadership and team management skills.
