Job Title: HVAC Mechanic

Job Description

Seeking a skilled HVAC Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment, ensuring operational efficiency and adherence to procedures. The role involves installing new air conditioning units and systems, testing for proper operation, and connecting these systems to necessary services. You will install, calibrate, and maintain both manual and automatic pneumatic and electronic controls on all HVAC equipment, seeking assistance for complex control systems when required. Your responsibilities will also include maintaining an organized work area and tools, and managing requisitions for necessary supplies. Proficiency in welding, brazing, and soldering on HVAC equipment is essential. You will troubleshoot and maintain centralized air handling units, including pneumatic and electrical controls, refrigeration units, walk-in boxes, cold rooms, and chillers. Additionally, you will handle heating or cooling complaints, making adjustments for occupant comfort, and ensuring that HVAC systems meet specifications and code requirements. Collaboration with other crafts on shutdowns for heating, cooling, and power supply systems is expected.

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Palo Alto, California.

Work Environment

The position is onsite at the Hospital, within a maintenance team comprising various trades such as electricians, carpenters, plumbers, locksmiths, and general maintenance personnel. You will collaborate closely with the hospital's engineers on maintenance requests. Work hours are 2:00pm to 10:30pm, Tuesday through Saturday, with an initial day shift training period of three weeks. A uniform will be provided.
