Job Description

The Town of Ocean Citys Transportation Department is accepting applications for Summer 2024. Transportation Maintenance Techs perform servicing duties on buses, from pulling vaults to fueling and driving through bus wash, then parking buses in storage building or delivering bus to service center as repairs require. Performs minor maintenance on buses including checking fluid levels and air pressures, changing bulbs, and assuring readiness for the next shift.

Work schedule:

• includes nights, weekends, and holidays.

Minimum Qualifications

Position Details:

• Minimum of 20 years old.
• Four (4) years of driving experience.
• Candidate must be able to communicate effectively.
• Able to remain calm in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
• A high school Diploma or general education degree (GED); or two (2) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education, and experience.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment and random Drug and Alcohol tests.
• Have or be able to obtain a DOT physical/Medical Certification Card.
• Must have a valid Commercial Drivers License (Class B) with passenger endorsement, qualified to operate vehicles with air brakes.
• Hourly rates: $17.91 for new transportation maintenance techs and $18.26 for returning transportation maintenance techs (who meet specified requirements)**
