Responsibilities
Assist with defining product and technology roadmap based upon understanding of market and input from stakeholders, such as product line management, sales, support, and services
Assist with requirements gathering, analysis, and definition to define features and functional requirements of the product
Translate high-level requirements into epics and user stories which can be estimated, prioritized, and executed by software engineering
Investigate, analyze, understand, and articulate Weatherford operational processes and workflows into both high-level and detailed diagrams for consumption by software engineering
Assist with the definition and prioritization of enhancements, features, and bug fixes
Coordinate backlog grooming sessions with Agile team and key stakeholders to manage product backlog
Define acceptance criteria for user stories
Attend and actively participate in Agile ceremonies (daily standups, sprint planning, sprint review, etc.)
Engage with customers and stakeholders to gather feedback
Demonstrate software to internal and external users
Assist with coordinating beta test activities
Assist with reporting of project progressAssist with the creation and review of user manuals, release notes, and help documentation
Qualifications
Essential
Degree in Engineering, Geoscience, Physics, Computer Science, or similar
At least 7 years’ oilfield experience or equivalent as a field engineer, technical sales engineer, or support engineer
Good understanding of drilling operations, well construction principles, and drilling automation technologies
Familiarity with industry regulations, standards, and best practices related to drilling operations and Managed Pressure Drilling
Strong organizational and communication skills
Creativity, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills
Ability to create, maintain, and prioritize product backlog for consumption by software engineering teams
Ability to work with service and support organizations to prioritize defect fixes to meet business needs
Ability to assist Product Management team to formulate product roadmap and execute plans according to such roadmap
Good interpersonal skills and ability to foster teamwork
Good computer skills
Fully bilingual (English-Spanish)
Monterrey resident or willing to move
Preferred
Previous experience as product owner or in project management
Experience in developing engineering software within the energy industry
Experience in Agile software development
Experience working with geographically distributed teams
