Superior Forge & Steel Corporation is currently hiring a Forge Annealing Helper for our operation in Lima, Ohio.  The Forge Annealing Helper is a member of our Forge Department responsible for assisting with forge press operations.  Starting wage for this position is $22.20/hr., with .50/hr. increases every 6 months until the established top rate of pay is achieved. This will be a 3rd shift position.

Responsibilities:

• Review and verification of forging assignment
• Review and verification of ingots scheduled to strip
• Stripping ingots and loading for pre-forge furnace cycle
• Operation of remote controlled overhead crane and forge furnaces
• Movement of ingots/forgings between furnace and forge press
• Start up and shut down of forge press and manipulators
• Making forging sticks
• Hot cutting forgings
• Assisting during forge press operation
• General department housekeeping and equipment preventative maintenance
• Adherence to all company safety policies, procedures, work instructions, and standards
• Perform other department duties as assigned

Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions:

• Must be capable of lifting up to 60 lbs. regularly
• Exposed to seasonal temperature changes
• Manufacturing environment with heat, noise, dust, and vibration

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Previous factory experience required, foundry experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail
• Must be capable of using measurement tools such as tape measure/ruler
• Must be able to work any shift
• Basic problem solving and troubleshooting skills
• Must be able to pass criminal background check and drug screen

Classification: Hourly
