Eastman Electrical Engineer - Mechanical & Utilities Process Technology in Kingsport, Tennessee

Responsibilities

• Provide quality design, analysis, and support for power systems at Eastman sites. Specific responsibilities include: o Specification, design, and factory acceptance testing of new power system equipment. Designs include protection schemes, single lines, three lines, control schematics, connection/interconnection diagrams, layouts, etc. o Analysis of power systems (including data gathering) for the following: short circuit current levels, selective coordination, arc flash, load flow, motor starting, dynamic stability, power quality, harmonics, and real-time analysis using SCADA data o Perform design evaluation and analysis of equipment and system for electrical utilities at manufacturing sites o Utilize power quality analyzers to troubleshoot power quality issues o Interpret relay event files and other data to diagnose power system faults/trips o Design of backup power generation systems • Provide leadership, contribute to, and ensure compliance with applicable NEC and OSHA codes and requirements. Responsibilities may include maintaining and updating corporate and site standards, serving on National Electric Code Panels, representing Eastman at Process Industry Practices (PIP), and interpreting/consulting on standards and code • Contribute/provide guidance for Electrical Area Classifications, Intrinsically Safe Installations, Grounding, Lightning Protection, Lighting, Underground Distribution Systems, Large Motor Specification, Generator Specification, Electrical Service Connection Requests • Design knowledge of instrumentation and control systems • Manage projects effectively and efficiently • Participate in planning, cost development and management, and scheduling for assigned capital projects • Mentor and provide guidance for less experienced engineers

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering • Professional Engineering (PE) License preferred • 5+ years relevant professional experience in Electrical Engineering preferred • Working knowledge and familiarity with NFPA 70 (NEC) requirements • Familiarity with modeling software like ETAP or EasyPower

Travel • Some periodic travel (domestic & international) may be required
