Description

We are assisting our client, a small renewable energy company, with a search for an Associate General Counsel specializing in Project Finance in Houston. This role includes dealing with project finance, tax equity, term loans, revolving credit, among other responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

• Handle all legal matters related to project finance, tax equity, term loans, and revolving credit for renewable energy projects.

• Offer legal advice and support on renewable energy transactions and projects.

• Collaborate with various teams to ensure the legal aspects of project finance are well-coordinated and implemented.

• Develop and implement legal strategies and solutions in alignment with the company's goals.

• Provide guidance on legal issues that may impact the company's renewable energy projects.

• Ensure all legal actions taken by the company are compliant with state and federal laws.

• Review and draft legal documents related to project finance and renewable energy projects.

• Handle legal issues related to renewable energy project development, including regulatory compliance and risk management.

• Lead negotiations from a legal perspective for project finance and renewable energy projects.

• Use legal expertise to support the company's strategic initiatives in the renewable energy sector.

Requirements

• Possession of a Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school

• Licensed attorney in good standing with the state bar of Texas

• A minimum of 5 years of legal experience, preferably in a corporate environment

• Proven experience in project finance and renewable energy law

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

• High ethical standards and professional integrity

• Proficient in legal research and writing

• Ability to provide legal advice and counsel to executives and other senior leaders

• Experience in drafting, negotiating, and interpreting contracts and other legal documents.
