We are currently on the lookout for a dedicated individual to fill the role of a full-time Transportation Construction Inspector. DESCRIPTION OF WORK In this role, you will execute a range of technical tasks independently, focusing on inspecting materials and workmanship on transportation construction projects to ensure compliance with contract requirements and established standards and specifications. You will be responsible for verifying that all construction activities adhere to approved construction codes, plans, standards, and specifications, while also assisting in checking grades, elevations, structure stakeouts, and roadway stakeouts in collaboration with contractors and surveyors. Additionally, this position will be tasked with inspecting the placement of various materials like cement concrete, bituminous concrete, drainage materials, bridge materials, and other materials relevant to transportation construction, ensuring quality and adherence to project requirements. The role also involves meticulously recording personal and contractor work in various documentation tools, such as Field Inspector's Diaries, Item Quantity Books, and Sketch/Computation Books, to maintain accurate project records.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as an Engineering Technician (commonwealth title); or Two years as a Transportation Technician or Construction Cost Technician 1 (commonwealth titles); or Three years of experience in highway or bridge surveying, design, construction, or inspection work; or Three years of experience in quality control of materials or building or construction industry experience, which includes reading and interpreting blueprints, plans, or schematics; or One year of construction inspection experience, and an associate degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, geotechnical engineering, surveying engineering technology, or a closely related engineering technology; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirement: This position requires possession of an active non-commercial Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License or equivalent. Other Requirements: You must meet the PA residency requirement.
