Job Description:

The Security and Computing Group business unit within Microchip is looking for a Senior Engineer II - Test to support all facets of product test program development, cost reduction, capacity improvement, and sustaining Security and Computing products. The candidate will work closely with Product Engineering as well as the Design, Systems, Validation, and Marketing Applications teams to define, create, debug, implement, sustain, and enhance ATE test programs for engineering development and production testing.

Responsibilities include:

  • Production test program development for both Wafer Sort and FT of packaged parts.

  • Qualification of silicon to ensure reliability of production units over expected lifetime.

  • Characterization of silicon to ensure accurate datasheet generation for customers.

  • Value added services for programming customer secrets.

  • Actively participate and drive manufacturing improvement projects including yield enhancement and test time optimization, among other areas.

  • Sustain and optimize test programs and test methodology of Security and Computing products.

  • ATE support of customer returns and failure analysis.

  • Manage development of ATE load boards and supporting hardware for new products under development. under development.

  • Drive continuous improvement in product quality, cost, and delivery while sustaining existing products.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Required: BSEE or BSCE with 6+ years of relevant experience.

  • Required: Experience using ATE and/or bench test systems for semiconductor testing.

  • Required: Strong analytical skills to analyze ATE datalogs and fab electrical test data.

  • Required: Hands on experience using lab equipment such as Oscilloscope, DVM, and Logic Analyzer.

  • Required: Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

  • Required: C, C++ programming exposure.

  • Preferred: Experience with digital ATE environments, ideally with Diamond X.

  • Preferred: Experience with scripting languages (Python, Perl).

  • Preferred: Experience with embedded systems and various serial protocols (SPI, I2C, USB).

  • Preferred: Understanding of Semiconductor Quality Standards.

  • Preferred: Understand the contributors to product cost and drive cost reduction in test.

  • Preferred: Experience with databases and SQL.

  • Preferred: Experience with OTP/Non-volatile memories and their characteristics.

The annual base salary range for this position, which could be performed in New York, is $70,000 - $163,000.*

*Range is dependent on numerous factors including job location, skills and experience.
