Our client, a pioneering force in autonomous mobility, seeks a Mechanical Engineer to join their BaseOps Engineering team. As a Mechanical Engineer - Serviceability, you will play a pivotal role in driving Design for Serviceability (DFS) initiatives. Collaborating with various departments, you will ensure our products are optimally designed for service and maintenance.

Job Title: Mechanical Engineer - Serviceability

Location: Foster City, CA

Pay: $50 - 60/h + Benefits

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with cross-functional teams to champion Serviceability, integrating design considerations throughout the product lifecycle.

• Evaluate part and assembly designs for hand and tooling clearance, ergonomics, and feasibility of component replacement.

• Develop service part release strategy and maintain Service BOM for spare parts planning.

• Collaborate closely with engineering teams to integrate components and electromechanical systems seamlessly.

• Support the design, development, and validation of specialized tooling used by the field team.

Requirements

• Proven experience in mechanical engineering within product design and manufacturing.

• Track record of designing and developing products across their lifecycle.

• Proficiency in designing for a variety of fabrication and manufacturing processes.

• Experience with product and process validation, including tooling and equipment design.

• Detail-oriented with strong documentation skills. • 3-5 years of mechanical engineering experience
