WHO WE NEED

We are seeking a versatile and team-oriented Construction Inspector for a federally funded transportation project in the Town of Union, Broome County. The successful candidate will be required to provide on-site observation and recordkeeping duties, including but not limited to reviewing submittals, monitoring construction operations, computing final quantities, completing diaries and daily work reports, reviewing contractor compliance with contract documents and EEO/DBE/MBE requirements, and reviewing payment requests. Qualifications sought include:

NICET Level 3 certification, or equivalent experience; prior construction inspection experience on NYSDOT projects and/or locally administered federal aid projects in New York State; ability to climb, crawl, and kneel to properly inspect work; excellent recordkeeping skills, proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel programs; proficiency with MURK; experience with APPIA or other construction recordkeeping software is a plus.

This project will begin in late June and be completed by mid-September.

The candidate should have an Associates Degree in Civil Technology and 10 years of relevant experience, or a high school diploma with 15 years of relevant experience.

Hiring Salary Range: $45.00-$58.00 Hourly (Hourly rate to be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities along with an internal equity and alignment with market area data.)
