In the role of HSE Specialist, you administer the policies and processes related to health, safety, environment, and physical security. You'll have the opportunity to practice, influence, and reinforce safety policies, guidelines, procedures, and culture. This position contributes to our vision by:

• Performing daily management of HSE process requirements on the manufacturing shop floor and making routine facility tours and safety inspections to determine if safe work practices are being observed

• Supporting and implementing strategies to establish and improve safety and environmental compliance practices

• Assisting in building the company's chemical library and ensuring compliant SDSs are deployed throughout the facility

• Completing detailed accident/incident investigations with root cause analyses, and developing corrective action plans through the use of industry-recognized cause analysis techniques (5-Whys, 8-D, etc.)

• Assisting with management of the worker's compensation program, working closely with insurance carriers and external healthcare professionals. Ensuring appropriate case management, return to work program, risk mitigation, cost containment, and employee well-being.

• Maintaining knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting HSE functions, and ensuring policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.

Job Requirements

Safran Electrical & Power looks for service-oriented team players with strong interpersonal skills, the right attitude and adaptability to an innovative and evolving environment.

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in Occupational or Industrial Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, Human Resources, Business, or a related field and 0 - 2 years experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

• Experience with access control and video surveillance is a plus

• HazMat certification preferred, CSP or similar certification is a plus

• Requires advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other MS Office product as well as the ability to run and analyze reports and data

• Requires effective communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work across all levels of the organization

• Requires advanced knowledge and proficiency in HSE trends and practices, and demonstrated experience managing large projects

• Up to 15% travel may be required
