GENERAL FUNCTION

The GE ADVA Technology Engineer provides appropriate New Product and Process deployment and Support to North and South American Zone Lab network(s).

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deploy New products, Processes & technologies to the American Zone Lab network

  • Deploy and validate the proper deployment through execution of validation plans

  • Participate in the building of tools/scripts for use in the team's processes (support, assessments)

  • Provide training using the LOFT formula

  • Deliver trainings and knowledge transfers covering standard operating procedures, and process standards, to Rx laboratories, and to lab technical support groups using the LOFT training modules.

  • Identify training needs for Rx lab personel and technical support groups

  • Perform actions to standardize the labs

  • Perform equipment, process & Rx laboratory assessments focusing on process standards, process control, calibration, maintenance, product conformity and industrial performance

  • Define action plans w/ the lab and stakeholders and follow-up on it's implementation

  • Validate improvements coming from the labs to become part of the standard

  • Coordinate local on-site industrial pilots for new equipment, processes, and tooling

  • Provide innovative solutions to problems and contribute to Essilor’s intellectual property portfolio

  • Provide ad hoc support to solve crisis

  • Capture and analyze machine and production capability and performance data (EER, OEE, consumables, throughput, errors, kick-outs...)

  • Identify issues in product conformity, process and industrial performance and provide inputs to drive the HMC process continuous improvement cycle

  • COMMUNICATE

  • Communicate at all levels within the Organization on project status and important technical points

  • Create and present reports, presentations, spreadsheets and web-based tools to communicate progress and results of your work

  • Keep up-to-date on relevant HMC technologies as well as monitoring competitor actions through available internal and external tools

  • Visit with vendors and suppliers

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum B.S. Degree in an engineering field in particular, in material science and/or chemistry and/or physics and/or mechanical engineering w/

  • – 5 to 10 years minimum experience in similar industries or technologies

  • – Excellent verbal and written communication

  • – Ability to work and communicate effectively in a team and multicultural environment.

  • – Ability to work with all members of working groups, skill levels and expertise

  • – A high level of demonstrated technical proficiency and aptitude (ie: problem solving skills, scientific methodology, statistical analysis, etc.).

  • – Ability to work independently and as a team member to accomplish objectives

  • – Ability to multi-task and prioritize

  • – Flexibility in work assignments to accommodate group and individual goals

  • – Advanced math such as College level Algebra

  • – Understand decimal numerical sequencing

  • – Proficient in computer use with Microsoft products (Office), Gmail and other software tools.

  • – Results oriented and a demonstrated spirit of innovation. Able to propose and develop new processes and techniques with an eye towards the customer environment.

  • process experience is preferred. Equivalent experience is, however, considered.Experience preferred
