Schlumberger Finance Student Intern in Cota, Colombia

The Finance Student Intern can develop different projects, such as:

General Accounting:

  • Perform general ledger accounting. Validate and ensure integrity for management reporting and statutory accounting for legal entities in both L0 and L1 ledgers.

  • Coordinates with Process Towers to ensure all balances in GL are correct and fully supported.

  • Perform accounting based on cost center, profit center and legal entity. Validate accuracy of posting to appropriate cost centers and legal entity, and request setup, creation, and closure of controlling master data objects to meet business insight needs.

  • Administer and submit intercompany cost recharges originated in the normal course of business.

  • Provide detailed review of other non-direct resource categories such as Transportation and Mobilization, Lease and Rent and Office and Camp.

Prepare balance sheet notes. Validate balance sheet reconciliations and ensure open items are cleared timely.

  • Certify completeness of balance sheet notes. Analyze balance sheet note variances.

  • Prepare and deliver balance sheet reports such as BSX and QCC timely and accurately.

  • Perform reconciliation between management reporting and statutory balances, follow-up with process towers and document any exemption.

  • Support on accounting details for audits such as external audits, tax audits, and internal audits, as required.

  • Understand and comply with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.

Treasury:

  • Perform bank reconciliations.

  • Perform matching and clearing of open item managed accounts.

  • Perform FP27 reporting, including ties out to field cash.

  • Perform field cash consolidation of data (ERP, banks), follow up on differences, and handle delivery to SL Treasury.

  • Manage advances, including matrix reporting for Oilfield Services (OFS) and non-OFS for SAP, and advance BSN.

  • Perform PHUB administration: WH – Set ups including new accounts and closures, users, user limits and special requests.

  • Support ACCN on reporting tasks.

  • Perform bank fee analysis. Do analytical review and cross check with RFP.

  • Perform bonds and guarantees reconciliations between bank and SLB system.

  • Understand and comply with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.

Taxes:

  • Prepare, review and file entities corporate tax returns and indirect tax returns.

  • Review statutory fiscal accounts to meet filing deadlines.

  • Prepare, review and submit internal management reports (FP8, FP6, Itax, CbC, BS notes), including consolidation and review prior to submission to GeoMarket.

  • Identify and deliver continuous process improvements; support and implement automation.

  • Achieve operational effectiveness targets set for controls, and identify control improvements.

  • Deliver on Tax effectiveness and efficiency targets.

  • Support on tax audits as required.

  • Understand and comply with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.

Billing:

  • ECP Revenue Recognition.

  • Issuance of invoices for ECP.

  • Support in the preparation of reports.

  • Validation of accounting in billing.

  • Other activities related to the BCoE.

Data:

  • Perform accounting reconciliations and prepare templates to migrate to SAP.

  • Track data cleansing progress with other countries/locations.

  • Review the regulatory fiscal accounts.

  • Analysis of inventory and fixed asset accounts.

  • Perform accounting reconciliations.

  • Support the field implementation team in data conversion and transition cycles.
