The Engineering Manager position is responsible for multidisciplinary engineering functions in a heavy industrial setting, including product design, design of manufacturing processes, administration, and capital budget planning. This position embraces technology, design, installation, operation, modification, construction and modernization of physical facilities and equipment in a complex ferrous foundry and machining facility. Focus on transformational change, continuous improvement and cost improvement projects while interacting with other plant and corporate staff positions is required.

How You Will Help:

    • Manages and directs a team of engineering professionals of various principles who engage in and activities of the plant and manufacturing/process; process layouts, designs, specifications, cost estimates, construction, utilities, buildings and grounds, environmental, administration and record keeping etc.
    • Maintain a master plan for the facility and equipment improvement projects while strategically leading a staff of 8 to 10 engineers.
    • Ensures that the plant management is kept thoroughly informed on matters such as: condition and protection of assets, environmental compliance, permits, regulations, capital expenditures, legal concerns, and in general the ability of the facility to manufacture products to customer's expectations within approved standards.
    • Directs and coordinates with R&D on product related engineering activities, including tooling design and/or product improvements, agencies' approvals, product sampling and product launches. Liaisons with marketing on resolution of field related product issues.
    • Liaisons with all other departments for the procurement of new production systems and equipment, economical operation of such equipment and development of training and maintenance procedures. Coordinates annual SD projects.
    • Works with EHS to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, statutes and codes - federal, state and local levels.

What You Will Have:

    • Bachelor's degree in an engineering field with a minimum of ten years' experience in upwardly progressing technical/engineering position within engineering.
    • Requires sound and multidisciplinary engineering background with strong planning and administrative skills.
    • Must be knowledge-based to heighten the technical vitality of project groups and to lead and motivate technical professionals. Sustain innovation and high performance in a team-oriented environment.
    • Fundamental understanding of cost accounting principles and financials to be able to prepare cost-to-benefit studies and to calculate payback for i.e. capital expense projects.
    • Computer skills based on Microsoft software, CAD, and other applications used typically in manufacturing.
