GE Healthcare Advanced Visualization Software Engineer Intern in Budapest, Hungary

Job Description Summary

The Advanced Visualization Platform is looking for a new team member to join our team delivering core services that empower our products to run medical applications. These applications are for radiologists, cardiologists and surgeons, used all around the globe to improve the review and analysis of medical CT, MRI, PET, etc. images for diagnosis, preparation for surgery or treatment follow-up.

Software Engineer Intern role is an educational opportunity for an engineering student to work alongside senior software engineers. You will work in an Agile scrum team implementing and maintaining features and automated tests delivered by the team.

Job Description

Roles And Responsibilities

  • Work with fellow team members closely to implement functionalities and automated tests, diagnose bugs and verify the solutions

  • Look for opportunities to enhance or optimize our existing code base

  • Take part in maintaining high quality documentation

  • Follow guidance of senior team members

  • Break down problems and estimate time required for the tasks

  • Be familiarized with the internal GEHC processes and tools used for Verification and Validation milestones

Qualifications/Requirement

  • Ongoing university studies in STEM majors or equivalent field

  • Availability for working min. 24 hours during a working week

  • Knowledge of one or more major object-oriented programming languages (Java mandatory)

  • Linux/Unix experience

  • Attention to detail, including code quality, testability, maintainability, and documentation aspects

  • Being located in Hungary

  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English.

  • Good team worker

  • Completes assigned tasks on time and with high quality.

  • Interest in learning more about healthcare solutions and advanced visualization topics

  • Ability to work from the GE HealthCare's Váci Greens office in hybrid fashion (2 days/week in office)

Desired Characteristics

Knowledge in any of the areas below will be considered a positive differentiator for the candidate:

  • Tools used in Continuous Integration processes: GitLab or Jenkins

  • Software design techniques through BDD and TDD
