Helping Celebrate Abilities (HCA) Behavior Specialist II in Binghamton, New York

Behavior Specialist II - <LI> Under the direction of the Behavioral Specialist, assist with conducting life skill groups and clinical evaluation of Individuals; provide direct support to staff to assist individuals in achieving more effective personal, social, educational, and vocational development and adjustment. <P> Essential Duties and Responsibilities: <LI> Assist with facilitation of discussion with individuals, and/or families to help them understand problems. <LI> Observe individuals, listen to their concerns, record their observations and report to Behavioral Specialist about any unusual behavior <LI> Model appropriate implementation of behavior treatment plans <LI> Assist with the collection of information about individuals, using interviews, case histories, observational techniques, and other assessment methods. <LI> Collaborate with other professionals to discuss therapies, treatments, counseling resources, or techniques. <LI> Attend individual ISP meetings and psych appointments. <LI> Member of internal audit team as assigned. <LI> Other duties as assigned. <LI> Requirements <LI> Education and Experience Requirements: <LI> Meets standards of 633.16 Regulations - Section 633.16 (32) (Level 2) <LI> Level 2 BIS: Must meet the qualifications as outlined in (a), (b) or (c): <LI> Must: <LI> have National Board Certification in Behavior Analysis (BCBA); and <LI> have a Master's degree in behavior analysis, or a field closely related to clinical or community psychology which is approved by OPWDD review; or <LI> Must: <LI> Have either: <LI> a Master's degree in clinical or treatment field in psychology, social work, school psychology, or a related human services field; or <LI> a New York State license in Mental Health Counseling; and <LI> have or obtain OPWDD-approved specialized training or experience in assessment techniques and behavioral support plan development; and <LI> have provided behavioral services for an agency in the OPWDD system continuously since December 31, 2012; or <LI> Must: <LI> have a Master's degree in clinical or treatment field in psychology, social work, school Psychologist I or Psychologist II Civil Service titles of New York State. <P> Qualifications and Knowledge: <LI> Excellent verbal, written and active listening skills. <LI> Excellent organizational & time management skills. <LI> Knowledge of all appropriate ethical, professional, and legal standards. <LI> Maintain all OPWDD required trainings <LI> Proficient with Internet Explorer; Microsoft Excel; Microsoft Outlook; Microsoft Word; and Windows Operating System. <LI> Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data, viewing computer screens. <LI> Required to function around disabled individuals. <LI> Working conditions of this position do not substantially expose workers to adverse environmental conditions and are typical of an indoor work environment.
