Home Depot Senior Analyst, Quantitative Research in Atlanta, Georgia

Position Purpose:

The Senior Analyst, Quantitative Research supports the Banner Pricing Team within Orange Apron Media by producing quantitative business insights and actionable visualizations that will support executive decision-making around ad pricing, campaign budgeting and sales optimization. The role requires the ability to frame business problems in analytical terms and rapidly distill actionable recommendations, while handling multiple conflicting priorities. Along with the required business context, the Senior Analyst will need to leverage Google BigQuery / Python for data manipulation and analysis and Tableau for dashboarding (as needed). Depending on the task assigned, the Senior Analyst will collaborate cross-functionally or operate independently, under limited supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • 20% Work with other departments providing analytical insight on business performance.

  • 20% Research and analyze business trends & customer behavior data to identify opportunities for website enhancements.

  • 20% Analyze web analytics data as well as other offline data to evaluate site performance.

  • 10% Work with the Web Analyst to provide weekly Web Analytic dashboards.

  • 10% Takes the lead on new programs and initiatives for Web Analytics Team.

  • 10% Provide web analytics strategy to Specialty Channel.

  • Reports to Sr Manager

Travel Requirements:

  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Physical Requirements:

  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Working Conditions:

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be eighteen years of age or older.

  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

  • Responsible for helping others and providing on-the-job training or guidance

  • Demonstrated business/financial modeling capabilities with tools such as Excel and Access

  • Demonstrated skills in applying statistical analysis principles to business challenges

  • Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work well with others

  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail; self-starter

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Analytics, Data Science, Economics, Finance, etc.) or relevant work experience.

  • 5+ years of experience in advanced analytics, data visualization and business insights. Experience with advanced tools and libraries for data analysis, data visualization and predictive modeling (e.g. Python and Tableau), along with expertise in Google BigQuery and/or SQL, is highly desired. Experience with reporting systems, data pipelines, data architectures and ETL processes is preferred. Familiarity with relevant ad tech platforms and tools is also beneficial.

  • Prior experience in the retail and/or digital advertising sectors, especially in roles related to FP&A, pricing strategy, yield management or digital monetization, is a significant advantage. Specialized knowledge of pricing strategies for digital ad units, yield management techniques, and familiarity with the intricacies of retail media is highly desired. Specific domain expertise enhances the candidate's ability to drive results in these areas.

  • Demonstrated ability to frame business problems in analytical terms and distill actionable recommendations for executive decision-making. Demonstrated ability to both collaborate cross-functionally or operate independently, under limited supervision. Demonstrated willingness to constantly learn new analytical techniques, coding frameworks, visualization packages, etc.

  • Excellent communication skills with both executive and technical audiences.
