Arconic Sr. Project Leader, GRP in Alcoa Center, Pennsylvania

Primary Purpose of the Job:

  • Portfolio management support for Ground Transportation and other GRP technology programs. Act as program manager for key GRP technology programs in support of government contracts and/or specific programs targeted by the GRP technology organization. The program activities can involve R&D and/or customer support activities.

Major Activities / Key Challenges:

  • Develop program plans and act as program manager for specific GT and/or other GRP sector areas. projects. Activities would involve establishing project plans and objectives and directing work of other team members.

  • Act as portfolio manager for GT related programs. Activities would include monitoring the budget, the program progress, and/or program change requests.

  • Manage commercially relevant deliverables for all GRP technology programs. Activities would include working with individual program managers to update schedule, program plans, and change requests to the ATC PMO and ATC lead team.

  • Work with limited supervision to meet deadlines and realize project deliverables.

  • Frequent and effective communication with ATC management and internal and external customers involving verbal and written (Emails, reports) forms of communication.

  • Provide technical guidance to less experienced program managers and consult on Daptiv and Knowledge Management (KMS) requirements.

Essential Knowledge & Skills / Education:

  • Expertise with program and portfolio management.

  • Ability to use Daptiv and Knowledge management systems.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with ATC, BU, and external customers.

  • Must be able to collaborate and work effectively with external customers and internal colleagues.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in program management.

  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of Daptiv and KMS systems

  • 5-10 years of program management experience.

  • M.S. or higher degree in a technical field related to ground transportation

  • PMP in program management.

  • 3-5 years’ experience in program management.
